With the
completion of the 1890 Wynkoop Building in 2001, this
block essentially reached 100% buildout. Only a small parking niche
along Wazee Street remains. The only building suitable for redevelopment on
this block would be the parking garage at the corner of 18th & Wazee.
The garage itself is well used and in decent shape, only that it was built
at a time before architectural design review. As a result, it stands
in contrast to the historic character of the area and contains no mix of
uses. Nevertheless, the exceptional design of 1890 Wynkoop along with
the other historic gems on this block make Block B a solid contributor to
the urban quality of Lower Downtown. |
